Episode 38 - The Wrath Of "Con"

With fumes and little reserve energy, The Atomic Fallout Society sum up their 2012 Phoenix Comicon experience (if they can even remember it) with a show recorded at the con. The usual reviews are in place but for the first time in a long time, the guys bring in a special guest... Brian Smith, a good friend and fellow comrade to give his take on the con.

Dave talks about the latest Fanboys vs. Zombies that came out this week and Tony gives his take on the new run of Batman Incorporated. BUT Tony also throws in his take on the recent newsmaking issue from Marvel that definitely polarizes the masses, Astonishing X-Men # 50. Break out the tuxes, we got a wedding coming up!

Lastly, special guest Brian Smith sums up the con experience and touches on Alan Moore and various topics. Dave takes over the sound drops and Tony's "credibility" is in question. This is one AFS episode that you cannot miss!

Episode 37 - The Con Is Upon Us! But First, Let Us Review...

The guys are running around like losers from a Filipino cock fight (which isn't much since you won't be able to run far while dying from your massive wounds, but we digress...).

The Phoenix Comicon is truly upon us, and the guys sell themselves out to promote all things Phoenix Comicon in the name of Abnormal Entertainment.

But first, Dave reviews the latest Fantastic Four, which is a launching point for a new chapter for the First Family of Super Heroes. This one is a doozy, almost capable of making Tony's head explode.

So, Tony decides to review something more of his level, the latest Justice League, where we are at the cusp of the dawn of a new and seriously dangerous villain. Tony has his theories, but he sounds pretty desperate in his desire to find out who this masked man is. Dave gets into the latest Avengers vs. X-Men free-for-all. Gambit vs. Captain America? Check. Spider-Man vs. Colossus/Juggernaut? Check. Now this one may make Dave's head explode.

All this, and did we mention the Phoenix Comicon? Tune in or tune out baby...

Episode 36 - Green Lantern Gets Interesting, Spider-Man Goes Saturday Morning Cartoon...

The countdown is on for the Phoenix Comicon, BUT we still have reviews to talk about. How about Green Lantern? Green Lantern has been hovering under the hype radar as other titles have been getting the love and attention, but according to Tony, the latest issue gives everyone a preview of what to expect in the Green Lantern universe, and it will send shockwaves big time.

Dave enjoys the latest Avenging Spider-Man and compares it to what you might find in the past Saturday morning cartoons, and it still can be awesome. The fact that She-Hulk is in it should be enough for you.

The Phoenix Comicon is around the corner, and The Atomic Fallout Society offers pointers and tips to make any con experience fulfilling. Pay attention, the con experience that you save may be your own.

Episode 35 - Free Comic Book Day! But Is It Good Stuff?

The guys talk about Free Comic Book Day, the biggest day of the comic book year. But first, Tony talks about Earth 2, a series that serves as a great starting point for anyone wanting to jump on the new second wave of the DC 52. Dave talks about Dial H and the shape of things to come with the unlikeliest of super heroes. If only creating a super hero could be so easy as to dial a number on a payphone...

The guys had a great experience with Free Comic Book Day and talk about the free books that were worth getting, not only because it was free. Lastly, they sell out and go balls out promoting the biggest comic book event to hit the Southwest... the Phoenix Comic Con.

The Atomic Fallout Society and Free Comic Book Day... because both happen to be dirt cheap and free.
