Episode 47 - A Look Into The Future... AFS Style

The guys take time to look into the somewhat near future for the comic book industry and discuss items that may peak some interest for the fanboys and fangirls out there. But first...

Tony talks about the latest Wolverine and the X-Men issue which brings us back to the lovey-dovey relationship between Colossus and Kitty Pryde, only nowadays, Colossus is part of the Phoenix Five and Kitty is helping run Wolverine's new school for mutants. This date isn't going to be pretty...

Dave talks about the "return" of Kid Eternity to the DC Universe. Jeff Lemire gives a unique take to this character and it isn't the Eternity that you might be used to. In fact, it's a little creepy and for whatever reason, this storyline sounds familiar to Tony somehow.

Lastly, the guys talk about the NEXT AFS show which will be live at Gotham City Comics and Coffee this week on new comic day with their co-conspirator, Brian Smith in tow. They also discuss a couple of upcoming cons that they might take part in and other stuff down the road.

Episode 46 - The Atomic Fallout Society Rises

The boys rise up to give two new reviews for this week. Tony talks about the newest incarnation of Captain Marvel and SHE has a lot of potential to rise to the next level.

Dave talks about the joining of two long-time geek favorites in Star Trek and Doctor Who. Great combo or disasterous combo?

Lastly, the guys talk about the widely anticipated debut of The Dark Knight Rises. Where does it rank among the best superhero movies released? Was it worth the hype? More importantly... what do the guys think about the Man Of Steel teaser? Superman is on his way back to the theatres next summer, but was it worth it?

The Atomic Fallout Society...soon to be a Christopher Nolan movie.

Watch the Footage of Episode 43 - Being Alan Moore

The live episode of The Atomic Fallout Society was our most popular to date, and we suspect that it had something to do with the inclusion of the legendary Alan Moore. Brian Smith is also back for his monthly appearance at Samurai Comics in Mesa, AZ.

The Atomic Fallout Society... too pretty for podcasting alone.

Episode 45 - The Fowl Episode... Chicken or Crow?

The boys talk fowl... in this case, Dave reviews the latest from Chew creator extraordinaire, John Layman and Chew: Secret Agent Poyo.

Tony discusses IDW's re-introduction of a classic: James O'Barr's The Crow. This time, our tragic hero is a foreigner in Tokyo seeking revenge for the loss of his love. Sounds good so far but what's the long-term prognosis for this title?

Lastly, Dave rants about the San Diego Comic-Con as it wraps up this weekend. Why is Dave so upset? Who knows? It's Dave... and he exposes the corporate influence that makes him sick to his stomach.

Episode 44 - Looking Ahead...

This week, the guys decide to look into the not-too-distant future as DC AND Marvel prepare to have some big happenings later this year. Problem is... we may have seen this before.

Dave talks about Avatar Press' newest entry into the comic book market, Hero Worship penned by Zak Penn. It's quite a detour from the more establishing Avatar titles, but is it worth picking up?

Tony reviews a graphic novel this week and for good reason... it's a Batman graphic novel! Not good enough? How about the fact that it is Batman: Earth One? If you liked Superman: Earth One, you will like this one, because Tony definitely did.

Lastly, Dave puts Tony to task to talk about the Amazing Spider-Man movie. Thumbs up or thumbs down?

Episode 43 - Being Alan Moore

The AFS goes public by spending quality time with comic buddy Brian Smith. First, Dave talks about the latest Amazing Spider-Man from Dan Slott and how it slyly ties into the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man movie. Tony discusses the evil that is Albert Einstein... confused? You won't be after reading the Manhattan Project from Jonathan Hickman. Tony likey.

Lastly, Tony, Dave and Brian discuss the Before Watchmen run from DC Comics. What worked, what didn't work.

But why listen to these fanboys when we can bring in the man himself... Alan Moore. He is even incoherent in-person, apparently, but that didn't stop the AFS from extending an olive branch to this legendary genius. Did they thaw that cold English heart? Or was there bloodshed at Samurai Comics Mesa this week?

The Atomic Fallout Society... even Alan Moore gives two thumbs up... sort of.
