Episode 55 - All Things "Jack Rabbit"...

This week features special guests Jim Hanna and Jon Goff, creators of Jack Rabbit, out currently on digital format through digital.comicsplusapp.com. Jack Rabbit is the story of Jackson "Jack Rabbit" Quaid, a private investigator in 1930's Los Angeles. The book is described as more of a "pop noir" thriller. Don't know what that is? You better listen to this episode then to get yourselves educated.

The boys also have reviews, but these aren't any typical reviews. These reviews end up raising some eyebrows. Are you a stickler for traditional comic book mythos? Do you like to keep your long-time origins intact no matter what? This week's reviews for Superman #0 AND The Dark Knight #0 might "upset" you then. At least Tony decided to review Happy from Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson. It's not quite your typical gritty dark crime drama....unless you want to talk about blue...nevermind, listen to this week's episode and you'll find out.

Episode 54 - Point/Counterpoint

This week, Dave hits a nerve with Brian, and it leads to the very first AFS Point/Counterpoint segment ever. Who comes out on top? Listen to find out...

Dave also reviews the final issue of Spider-Men. You know, the one where Peter Parker meets Miles Morales. How this story ends sets up an interesting storyline for the future of Spider-Man. Brian discusses the DC 52 Zero Issue for Supergirl. Who is she and where exactly did she come from? Questions will be answered in this one. Lastly, Tony discusses the Zero Issue for Justice League, which happens to center around the origin of Shazam. This time, Billy Batson isn't as good as we usually think he is. In fact, Tony thinks he's a little douche...

The guys discuss death in comic books, especially coming off of the talked-about death in the last Avengers vs. X-Men. Death really isn't what it seems in the comic book world, but what is considered the most significant death so far in comic book history?

Finally, the boys intro a new podcast to the Abnormal Entertainment family... tune in to find out the details.

Episode 53 - Educating The Society

Co-conspirator Brian Smith helps introduce a new segment to educate everyone on a title or book that deserves attention or should be considered mandatory reading for all. This week, Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra's Y: The Last Man is today's lesson.

We have reviews as Brian discusses the DC zero issue for Superboy and Tony reviews a brand-new DC zero title, Team Seven. Dave goes on his own path and decides to talk about the Victories from Dark Horse. It's a little like the Watchmen and just as dark... maybe even darker?

Lastly, since the Society is headed to Los Angeles this weekend for Stan Lee's Comikaze, we decide to talk about the almighty Stan Lee's contribution to the comic book industry but more importantly... is he still relevant compared to what the industry is now today? How would today's comic book industry react to Stan Lee today? The answer may surprise you...

The Atomic Fallout Society... EXCELSIOR!

Episode 52 - The Atomic Fallout Society presents MasterTwit Theatre

The guys try something brand new... in fact, there are a couple of new things going on starting this week. First, the guys go on the road and bring this week's show from Samurai Comics in Mesa, which is the beginning of a run where The Atomic Fallout Society will actually be recording shows at of all things... a comic shop. And with that, they bring back comrade Brian Smith who helps out in a brand-new feature from the AFS, MasterTwit Theatre. You'll have to listen to it to believe what you are hearing as this week's topic will be on the Rob Liefeld/Scott Snyder Twitter battle.

But there's more! The guys have their usual reviews and all of the reviews are based off of the DC Zero titles that make their debut this week.

Lastly, there will be LOTS of smiles as Dave goes on a rampage... yes, it's another instance of David having Tourette's over something that makes him very angry... two words... Rob Liefeld. Although it isn't what you think and it isn't all Rob's fault.

The Atomic Fallout Society... soon to be Rob Liefeld's LEAST favorite podcast...maybe?

Episode 51 - Labor Day... A Year Later

Around this time last year, David and Tony Sabal were approached by Abnormal Entertainment and asked whether or not they were interested in doing a podcast on comic books... and the rest was history. Apparently, David realized this but Tony didn't. That should give you an indication of the impact of the podcast.

In the meantime, Tony discusses Green Lantern Annual # 1 which sets the stage for the Rise of the Third Army. What's that you say? You'll find out. Dave discusses Flash Annual # 1 which examines the new dynamic surrounding the Rogues, a classic villain group that the Flash does battle with in the past. Is it different in this new DC Universe?

Dave also sums up his experience this year at Saboten Con, the annual Anime convention in Phoenix, Arizona. Tony is still confused even after Dave's explanation.

All this and big news about future shows, Tony introduces NEW sound drops and Dave still reminds us about Black Kiss...

The Atomic Fallout Society... one year older but it feels like eternity.
