Episode 110 - Oh Where Oh Where Is 5D?

It's The Atomic Fallout Society, same Atomic time, same Atomic channel! 5D, Chris Lilagan, is out of town on holiday vacation leaving Brian and Dave to man the ship. Will they survive?! Who's kidding who? But don't worry, Dave's got one trick up his sleeve, or actually it's one man. The Captain returns! First, though, the boys have some reviews to do... Brian kicks things off with The Illegitimates #1 from IDW Press and SNL star Taran Killam. Let's just say Brian doesn't quite dig this #1 issue, and we find out more about Brian than we ever wanted to know... Dave brings in this week's big guns in Harley Quinn #1. The anticipated title from DC Comics about everyone's favorite crazy, clown loving, mallet wielding sociopath hit the shelves this past week from the creative team of Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti. Dave's apparent dream girl storms the DC 52 Universe in her own title. Will it please the masses? Can Harley's shorts get any shorter?

In the 2nd half of the show, the bat signal is set off as the show can't seem to function without two Filipinos on board. So Tony, The Captain, returns. Did he return out of time after being shot by time bullets? Needless to say, he brings in a special Speculator's Corner in with TOP 5 Things to Get Your Comic Book Loving Geek... The boys throw a little debate towards the end by looking at another Top 10 list that begs the question: "What are the Top 10 DC story lines that should be turned into a film?"

Episode 108 - The Boys Are Back

After an extended hiatus, Atomic Fallout Society IS BACK! Brian, Chris, and Dave return in a new recording location, maybe future Abnormal Studios, and bring the hate and confusion. Three weeks have passed, and the boys waste no time but jump right into the deep end. Brian brings in Hinterkind #3 from Vertigo Press. Brian brought the 1st issue of Hinterkind awhile back, but does the title continue to roll, or does it stop dead on the train tracks? Written by Ian Edginton with art by Francesco Trifogli, a lot of comic trolls have accused this title of being Saga light, but what does The Beard of Steel say? Up next is Fluffer, aka Chris, as he brings the swan song of Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato from the Flash title, Flash Zero Year. Does this Zero Year tie-in to the team justice? Well in the end of everything Chris gained the title of C.T.B., want to know what that stands for? Up last is Dave bringing us another swan song to the DC writers pool. Geoff Johns' run in Aquaman comes to a climactic end in Aquaman #25. Did Johns fulfill his goal of bringing another low level superhero up a notch? Or did Dave find some holes in the ship that was Aquaman?

Rounding up the last half of the show, it's Chris' 2nd chance of redemption at claiming the industry news segment of the show. The boys discuss what's been missed the last three weeks and finish up with thoughts on the latest casting choices for the next round of Superheroes and Super heroines.

It's ATOMIC FALLOUT SOCIETY TIME, DID JA MISS US?

Episode 107 - Battle of the Villains Month

What's this? It's Atomic Fallout Time! The show starts off with David talking bout history's Lewis and Clark... Hold your snooze alarms. Image Comics brings us Manifest Destiny #1 from writer Chris Dingess and artist Matthew Roberts. It's an Image Comic #1 tale about the secret mission of Lewis and Clark. Brian follows up with a look at Batman 25 from the all-star team of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. Zero Year continues on track as the story talks 'bout Batsy, Alfred, and Gordon before they ruled Gotham. What's Captain Talent's thoughts? Fluffer, aka Chris, finishes us off proper with Superman/Wonder Woman #2. Charles Soule and Tony S. Daniel continue the story of Supes and Diana's relationship as Clark meets his future in-laws. But is this a "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner" take on Superhero relations saved by the return of an old Superman villain? You will all kneel!

Speaking of villains, the boys decide to continue the segment left to them by the former Captain. It's time to ask "What Have We Learned?" This time, the boys tackle the beginning of DC's Villains Month and finish it up by asking questions of Marvel's Battle of the Atom.

Episode 106 - Bamf Goes The Dynamite

Nine out of ten geeks agree, IT'S ATOMIC FALLOUT TIME! The guys get off to a fast start as Chris brings us CATACLYSM: THE ULTIMATES' LAST STAND #1. Ultimates forefathers Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley bring us the final chapter to the Marvel Ultimates Universe. Has Galactus come, or is this just another Age of Ultron? Chris scores well, and finally upgrades to a higher lvl of Fluffer... and in other news, David brings us the return of the fan favorite X-man, Nightcrawler in Amazing X-Men #1. Does death continue to be mocked in comics, or did the team of Jason Aaron an Ed Mcguinness pay there respects to the dearly revived? Brian rounds up the reviews with and Image #1 in Alex + Ada, a futuristic take on human society with a special twist. Did it please the Beard of Steel, or does this Image title fall flat?

It's a reboot of an old Atomic Fallout segment, Speculator's Corner. With the absent Captain, it's up to the Beard of Steel as he brings us his "Collector's Corner". Brian takes a look at the rising prices of certain Image number ones, and of course, he has to throw in a couple Superman titles as well as a quick look at a story arc that might see a resurgence soon thanks to the upcoming Thor movie.

It's Halloween, and The Atomic Fallout Society has got some treats for the masses. Or is it a trick? Brian kicks things off with the much anticipated Sandman Overture by Neil Gaiman and J.H. Williams III. Fans have been waiting for the return of Dream of the Endless. Does the title score as one of the tops or does it fall flat? Diaper, aka Chris Lilagan, brings us a tale from Hellraiser courtesy of Boom Studios. Hellraiser 2013 Annual #01 from Clive Barker, Mark Miller and artists Janusz Ordon, Jesus Hervas. The creative teams bring us two separate tales of terror from the forgotten horror franchise. David finishes it off with the title that made him sick for the first time in Atomic Fallout history; Crossed Badlands #40 from Avatar Press. The team of David Hine and German Erramouspe continue the mayhem of Crossed in Crossed Badlands. Did it go too far, or was it just the story that pushed David over the edge?

The boys finish up the Halloween Special with a look at the Horror genre in comics and discuss what does make a Horror comic and what makes a good one. Brian educates us on a little background of the old comics code, and the boys give a last minute treat by plugging their choice for best comic based on Halloween. What is it? Find out?

Episode 103 - Mister Smith Educate Us Some Sandman

Atomic Fallout Society RISE UP! Episode 103 kicks off with David reviewing/spoiling a book from Boom Studios in IMAGINE AGENTS #1 from creator Brian Joines and artist Bachan. In over 100 episodes, he still hasn't figured out how to review properly...

Brian rebounds the reviewing with LETTER 44 #1 from Oni Press and writer Charles Soule. Chris gets downgraded from Nozzle Lvl to Funnel Lvl by decree of Professor Smith. He makes up for it by bringing to the table Rogues' Rebellion #1 from Flash writer/artist Brian Buccellato and artist Patrick Zircher.

And in the main event, Brian takes on the biggest task given to Educating the Masses... Neil Gaiman's Sandman. Will this acclaimed series be too much for The Talent to handle or will he educate the masses once more? Tune in and find out. The Atomic Fallout Society is here!

It's a brand new day for The Atomic Fallout Society. Off they are going... as the former Captain would say. With no voice of reason to steer the ship, will the new Atomic Fallout Society crew be able to lead the way? David brings us Shaolin Cowboy #1 from Dark Horse Comics and sees a series that has potential. The new Filipino Chris brings us the shortest review in Atomic history in Rocket Girl, but don't worry, he has a VERY special hazing review by the end. Brian again tackles a Superman title, but this one was highly anticipated, Superman/Wonder Woman #1. Does the Beard of Steel like this romance comic for the man of steel, or will it spell doomsday for Superman and Wonder Woman's relationship? The boys round it off with a birds and bees talk in comics and ask the multi-million dollar question... is sex in comics a good thing?

Episode 101 - Goodbye Mr. Sabal... For Now

A new era begins for The Atomic Fallout Society with episode 101 as Tony Sabal announces his temporary departure from the show to tend to other business and personal matters. But let's face it, 100 shows will do that to you. But not to worry as our good friend Chris Lilagan steps in to join the AFS crew on a regular basis.

For this show, Tony, Dave, Brian and Chris all participate in what turns out to be a more "raw" version of the AFS. Chris leads off by reviewing the latest Green Lantern that starts off the "Lights Out" storyline. Chris is a BIG Green Lantern fan... and needless to say, this issue leaves a bad taste in his mouth. Not a good way to start off your AFS run. Tony's final review for AFS (for now) is Captain America: Living Legend # 1. Solid story that even has the feel of the Captain America movie. Brian reviews Hinterkind... it's a DC Vertigo book, so it's going to be really, really trippy. Lastly, Dave reviews THE Star Wars. This isn't the Star Wars that you're used to. This one was based on George Lucas' initial rough draft of the story, so it's going to make your head explode... like Dave's. As a final sendoff, Tony asks the AFS crew, what have we learned from Marvel Now and any other items that we have learned from the new DC 52?

Episode 100 - Finally, We Made It...

No conspiracy here. The Atomic Fallout Society finally returns after a brief hiatus to deliver the 100TH episode of its "legendary" and "epic" run. Dave starts off with a review of the latest Guardians Of The Galaxy. Maybe we can get an explanation of why Angela's in the Marvel Universe. Tony reviews Sex Criminal, and it is what you expect. There's sex and there's a crime... well, eventually there's a crime, but there's sex, and you will learn some very interesting positions. Finally, Brian discusses the Joker's Daughter... yes, the Joker apparently has a daughter, and everyone on the planet has been waiting for this one. Is it worth it? Better yet, is it worth the money you'll spend for the 3D comic book? Tune in to find out what the guys think as well as a preview of what the guys learned ever since the AFS first started many, many moons ago.

Episode 99 - Going Retro...

Don't adjust your sound settings. Your system is working as normal. Dave and Tony decide to give Brian a well-deserved week off and in their infinite wisdom, decide to go back to the very beginnings of the Atomic Fallout Society and record old-school... by the way, that opening and closing theme was indeed the original theme music that Tony used to kick off The Atomic Fallout Society.

This week, Tony reviews Batman 23.2 which is dedicated to the Riddler. This version of the Riddler isn't just fun and games... he's a serious cat who's going to make Batman's life very, very miserable in a battle of wits. It's going to be worth reading in the future. Dave reviews the latest Flash and gets some insight on who exactly the Reverse Flash is. He has his own theory of where it might be going, which would make for interesting conversation.

Dave also rants about the latest version of... Lobo. It's not the Lobo that you are familiar with, and Tony has his own opinion of what DC has done to the bounty hunter. That, and the boys have a very, very, very special guest sit in not only listening, but finally hearing what these two have been up to the last two years...

The Atomic Fallout Society... going old-school and loving it.

Episode 98 - Enter Sabal, Exit Sabal

This week, we welcome back David Sabal... and find Tony Sabal missing. Actually, he's off prepping for the big 100th episode, so we have Dave, Brian Smith and returning guest Chris Liligan back to review a very big week for comic books.

Dave reviews the first issue of Marvel's latest storyline, Battle of the Atom, and they do a "retake" of Days of Future Past. You think the X-Men learned for time travel and the crap it brings? Chris reviews one of the Villain titles from DC, Justice League with Darkseid. We get a backstory showing the rise of Darkseid, which may lead to something bigger in the future for this Dark New God. Finally, Brian reviews the big one from DC, Forever Evil and the return of the Crime Syndicate of America. Lots of questions will start to be answered beginning with this one.

With the return of Dave, we have industry news which will be interesting, since Tony's not around to make sure the show doesn't go to hell. The guys also go into a very important discussion of a very special indie project that's coming up...

Episode 97 - Speculating With A Special Guest

This week, we welcome Jacob O'Neal from the Gorram Nerd Hour as he sits in for David Sabal. Jacob helps out by reviewing a Hellboy title... but this isn't your typical Hellboy title, and it doesn't end well.

Brian Smith reviews Collider # 2... whoops, the Federal Bureau of Physics or whatever it's called from now on. Anyway, it doesn't affect the story overall, so you might want to pick this one up.

Tony Sabal reviews Batman Inc. Special #1. Yes, Batman Inc. isn't quite over, but how can you turn your back on Bat-Cow? Is it worth reviewing even though the Trinity War is over? Tony also discusses various topics in the speculator's market like original comic art. Is it worth the investment? Maybe if you have a LOT of money? Also, does controversy and/or changing your title name affect speculation? Better yet, how about them 3D covers that DC is planning in the month of September? Tune in, but we make no guarantees that you'll make any profit listening to this show.

Episode 96 - Trust Us... This Is Episode 96

First of all, this is Episode 96. Despite what you may hear in this episode, we had a serious brain fart, and this IS episode 96. Dave is out this week and may be out for some time, because he apparently lost the ability to walk in step... stay tuned on that front. In his place, we replaced him this week with another Filipino in order to maintain the majority, and that Filipino is Chris Lilagan!

Chris starts his indoctrination by reviewing the 2nd issue of Batman '66. It's not bad for the first review, but according to Brian, it's not his first attempt at an AFS review. Tony reviews... or tries to review that latest Daredevil issue from Mark Waid. Just pick up this title... period. Brian reviews the 1st issue of Batman Beyond Universe which also includes the Justice League Beyond team. Very solid book. This week also brings us the latest Educating The Masses, and this week, Brian introduces us to "Flash: Rebirth". He's more than just a really, really fast guy as there's more to the Flash than meets the eye.

Episode 95 - Who's The Mystery Guest?

The gang's all back, BUT who's with them? Doesn't matter, 'cause the mystery guest just stepped into the AFS Zone, which means that there's a car crash waiting to happen. Bet he'll think twice before asking to come back. By the way, today's secret word is "Gail Simone".

The reviews start off with Tony TRYING to review the newest Marvel spectacle called Infinity. Despite Brian and Dave's tactics, this title has a promising beginning, but we said the same thing for Age of Ultron, and look what happened. Dave reviews Gail Simone's Red Sonja. Dave liked it... for the nice T & A. Brian reviews Gail Simone's Batgirl. This time, Batgirl find herself in the sights of the Gotham P.D. led by... her father. The family get-togethers aren't going to be joyful this holiday season for the Gordons. And we finish off by interviewing our mystery guest... he's still here, so that's a good thing.

Episode 94 - Variant Covers: A Speculator's Fools Gold

One episode closer to 100, and the guys review nothing but debut issues this week. David reviews from Frank Miller... huh?... Robocop: Last Stand #1. Knowing Dave's disdain for Frank, this may be an interesting review. Brian reviews the latest from DC/Vertigo, Jeff Lemire's Trillium, and it harkens back to some classic Vertigo vibes. Tony reviews Sidekick from J. Michael Straczynski. Ever wonder what would happen if a popular sidekick loses his main guy? You're about to find out. Lastly, Tony discuss the latest in the Speculator's Corner and why variant covers probably aren't the best way to speculate on hot comic books. Also, find out what past Marvel comic book may be on the rise, especially if rumors are true about the upcoming X-Men movie.

The much-hyped finale of Batman Inc. hits the stands this week. The same creator that killed off Batman's little boy finishes off his run with this climax, BUT is it worth it? Or will we just shake our fists at Grant Morrison for this lame ending to this title? Tony harkens back to a long-gone era with the debut of Captain Midnight, and Dave goes even further by reviewing a title first created by Alan Moore by the name of Tom Strong. If the guys aren't careful, this episode could be the death of them. Dave also catches us up with the latest industry news and fallout from this year's San Diego Comic Con.

Episode 91 - Superman Kills Again???

This is the week that all fanboys and fangirls have been waiting for... the 91st episode of the Atomic Fallout Society... and the San Diego Comic Con. Why are the guys NOT at the San Diego Comic Con? It might be because they might be sick and tired of dealing with the crowds and the raised prices of almost everything out in San Diego this time of year. Listen to this episode and hear the rants and apprehension of going back to the con for some of the guys. But first, we have reviews...

Tony reviews the latest Deadpool, and it is a GROOVY issue. That basically sums it up. Brian reviews the latest Justice League of America coming off of yet another sudden death at the hands of Superman... wait a minute, haven't they learned their lesson already? David Sabal reviews the latest Eerie book from Dark Horse. You like real classic horror tales like in the past? You might like this one. Tony reviews the latest Peter Panzerfaust. Think Peter Pan leading the Lost Boys against Nazi Captain Hook. Lastly, Brian gives his viewpoints on the long-awaited Justice League # 22, the start of the Trinity War. So many questions after this one, but a lot of exciting opportunities. The guys also review the latest in industry news including the latest controversy surrounding Orson Scott Card.

Episode 89 - Catching Up With The Atomic Fallout Society

After taking a break last week for a very good reason, the boys return to the internet with a lot of catching up to do. First, they do a quick review of LAST WEEK'S books before jumping into this week's picks.

For this week, Brian reviews the latest Detective Comics from John Layman and the intro of a new bad-ass villain. David reviews the debut book for Pandora, a character that will play a significant part in the upcoming Trinity War storyline for DC. Lastly, Tony reviews "Deadpool Kills Deadpool" and in the process makes both Brian and Dave sick and angry. But could this Deadpool title be the title to end all Deadpool titles? Or is Tony just kidding himself?

Tony also brings us up-to-date with the latest news in Speculator's Corner, and they are now posting articles on the best comic book titles in 2013. Somehow, this doesn't vibe with The Atomic Fallout Society.

It's the week after Man of Steel, and boy, there's a lot to talk about and a lot to RANT about, especially if you're Brian Smith. But first, Brian reviews the latest comic book storyline dealing with The X-Files. Remember The X-Files? Well if you're a fan, you like...LIKE...this title but may not be head over heels on it, especially since after you read this one, you may end up with more questions than answers.

Dave reviews IDW's "Wild Blue Yonder", a steampunk title that Dave likey a lot. If you dig steampunk, you'll like this title. Lastly, Tony finally comes to the realization that "Age of Ultron" was a disappointment and really was nothing more than a setup for new titles including yet another Avengers title. And what about Angela? The worst-kept comic book secret on there is finally confirmed, but that's not all that we end up retrofitting into the Marvel Universe. In fact, it seems like Marvel's decided to really, really change the face of the universe for good starting by satisfying the hunger of a really big classic character...tune in to find out who.

Tony reviews the latest Batman (what else is new?) and as expected, he likes the start to Batman: Zero Year. Brian reviews the debut issue of Superman Unchained and like clockwork, he loves it, which is a great setup for his latest edition of "Educating The Masses".

The guys return from their escapades at the Phoenix Comicon and not a moment too soon as there's an overflow of energy (Brian) that's ready to burst out...

Leading off, Tony reviews Astro City # 1. Exciting news for old Astro City fans as they can now pick up on new adventures while new fans may want to slowly digest this one as it will leave you scratching your heads if you are not familiar with the title. Dave is equally confused with his review of the latest East of West. Maybe Dave needs to re-read the title from the beginning but so far, he likes it.

Lastly, Brian unleashes his pent-up angst thanks to the debut of Kick Ass 3. Yes, if you are a BIG fan of the Mark Millar franchise, you'll like this one. If you aren't, then Brian will sum it up for you. It's a priceless moment that you'll love to hear. Somehow, SOMEHOW, the Watchmen somehow gets mentioned in his ranting, which is absolutely incredible. That and Dave provides even more fuel for Brian's fire with industry news.

Episode 84 - Hail, Hail, The Crew's All Here...

The captain returns! It's a full crew this week as The Atomic Fallout Society prepares for the upcoming Phoenix Comicon next week. But first...

We have reviews as we talk about the latest Iron Man storyline "The Secret Origin of Tony Stark". You think you know Iron Man? Not until you know Tony Stark...

The guys also review a couple of issues that make their debut this week, Dream Thief and Dream Merchant. No, it's not the same book, but it'll actually make better sense than the Iron Man book... trust us.

Lastly, the guys talk big about Phoenix Comicon, not because Abnormal will have a BIG presence at this year's con. It's probably because Brian and Dave are going to have a big week with their new movie... what sellouts.

The Atomic Fallout Society...did you miss us? We missed you.

Episode 83 - A Day Late and a Tony Short

Welcome to the Atomic Fallout Society! Tony is out one more week, and now the boys are scared that he might not return. This week, Brian and David are joined by their friends Greg "Darkseid" Holmes and Chris "Lilly" Lilagan to help fill the void left by their fearless, but tired, leader.

They start off as always with some reviews, and Marvel doesn't do too well. Surprise, surprise. David does have the lone bright spot in the reviews thanks to a DC title, but no one on the panel save for Greg is shocked to find that out. Greg does however go on a rant for the ages and Brian does his best to keep everyone under control as he fills in for the one, the only, Tony Sabal.

Listen this week to find out what really happens when El Capitan is away.

Episode 82 - Where the Hell is Tony?

With El Capitan otherwise busy, the idiot twins go on a warpath. Brian and David can’t contain their disdain for all things Millar, and it definitely shows.

The Professor brings you another Educating the Masses, and this week’s topic is very relevant with Iron Man 3 on the horizon.

Is Tony gonna be happy when he hears this issue? Probably not, but we won’t know until you listen to The Atomic Fallout Society.

Episode 81 - Emotions Run High...

In this emotionally packed episode of The Atomic Fallout Society, the guys let their passions stretch the show for an additional 10 minutes. Damn caffeine. Anyway, we have reviews...

Dave reviews the latest Danger Club as the shit hits the fan for our favorite sidekicks and things get pretty messy... messy in a blood and guts sort-of-way. Tony reviews Age of Ultron... wait a minute, didn't he do this a couple of weeks ago? He has a good reason why THIS particular issue needs to be mentioned as a key moment will most likely end up creating a lot of change in the Marvel Universe. Brian reviews Five Ghosts: Haunting of Fabian Gray. Is this title worth the pickup? One word: yes.

Dave catches everyone up with some important industry news but sets the table for some internal strife within the Abnormal Family. In a nutshell: Brian. Kevin. Man of Steel movie. Superman. Kevin Hates Superman. Brian Loves Superman. You get the picture, and it gets feisty.

So with that being said, it was a great run for The Atomic Fallout Society, especially if our esteemed leader Mr. Moyers decides to inflict his wrath onto our boys.

The Atomic Fallout Society... maybe North Korea needs a podcast.

Episode 80 - To Infinity And Beyond?

It's lesson time with the "Talent", Brian Smith, as he educates the masses this week. With the upcoming marketing exploits of both Guardians of the Galaxy and the sequel to the Avengers, rumor has it that the classic baddie Thanos will take center stage in the Marvel movie universe. But who is Thanos to the uneducated comic book reader? The best way to introduce Thanos is to discuss one of the most influential storylines in Marvel history, The Infinity Gauntlet, and why this storyline pushed Brian to the edge in a very not-so-happy way.

But first, we have reviews, and David starts off with the latest issue of Thor: God of Thunder from Jason Aaron. Brian reviews the latest Batman and Robin... we mean Batman and Red Robin (and this issue is a WTF? moment). Tony reviews the latest Constantine, which features an appearance from an under-used classic DC character.

The guys also hype the upcoming Phoenix Comicon. Why? Let's just say that The Atomic Fallout Society, in fact, the ENTIRE Abnormal Entertainment family is going to have a significant presence at this year's con. Let's not screw it up guys.

The Atomic Fallout Society... the real Guardians of the Galaxy.
