Episode 78 - Sans Sabal

It’s the return of the Atomic Fallout Society. Fresh off his departure from The Gorram Nerd Hour, Brian makes a comeback with a special guest, Justin Blair, Manager of Samurai Comics in Mesa.

They start off with their reviews, and this week was a good one! Both of them got to review NEW books, starting with their first issues. What will they think? You’ll have to listen to find out.

The show was a little bit shorter than usual as Brian tries to find his groove after the abrupt exit earlier in the week, and Justin does his best to keep the show on track.

When will the Sabals be back?  Not soon enough.

Episode 77 - What the F is a "Requiem"?

Now that Robin is dead... (spoilers), the comic book world, more importantly, the Batman universe is now dealing with it in their own ways, and the guys decide to pay tribute to Robin by reviewing the Batman titles this week dealing with the death of Damien Wayne. Dave reviews the latest Batgirl in which Batgirl and Commissioner Gordon are dealing with their own family issues... like a serial killer within their own family, as this storyline is heading towards a very messy family reunion.

Tony reviews the latest Batman in which the Dark Knight finds himself in a self-imposed suicide mission against the Gotham underworld. However, Harper Row is looking to make sure that Batman stays focused and remembers his true role as Gotham City's crusader. Could she be the next sidekick for Batman? Too early to tell, but check it out to see the beginnings of a new relationship.

Lastly, Brian reviews probably the most emotional and touching Batman and Robin issue. This issue is particularly powerful since there's no spoken dialogue throughout the issue, yet each panel and image expresses the inner saga going on within Bruce Wayne. This is one issue that you CANNOT miss and will be talking about for awhile.

On top of this, there's talk about revisiting Batman's early days, like the very beginning of how Batman became Batman and his very first super-villain. This has the makings of a classic storyline, and it's from Scott Snyder, so how can it go wrong?

The Atomic Fallout Society... we still don't know what "requiem" means.

Episode 76 - All Hands On Deck

For the first time in awhile, all three entities of The Atomic Fallout Society are present and accounted for. Good thing too, since this week turned out to be a good one in terms of titles.

The captain, Tony Sabal, discusses the latest big storyline from Marvel, Age of Ultron, which debuts this week. Is it worth the hype? Have we seen this formula before? Umm... yeah. The professor, Brian Smith, finally gets a chance to wrap up the H'el On Earth storyline from Superman. THIS ONE actually is worth picking up, and not because the Professor says so, but this one ends with a possible earth-shaking conclusion that may re-shape the DC Universe... too much? Lastly, our little buddy, David Sabal, reviews the latest Animal Man, which turns out to be a very heart-wrenching story that will shape future storylines for our buddy, Buddy...

This week also brings a new "Educating the Masses" with the Professor himself. Since the last couple of weeks have been focused around death in recent comic book titles, the Professor wants us to learn where it all began: Batman's "Death In The Family"... only this time our tragic character is still Robin, but the Jason Todd Robin. This is MANDATORY reading, so pay attention as the Professor teaches...

The Atomic Fallout Society... the only storyline you need to be reading.
